HOW TO GET STARTED WITH THE PVP
The 340B Drug Pricing Program is a federal program administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) that requires drug manufacturers participating in the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program to provide covered outpatient drugs to enrolled covered entities at or below the statutorily defined ceiling price.
Section 340B of the Public Health Service Act (340B statute) requires the establishment of a prime vendor program. Apexus serves as HRSA’s Prime Vendor for the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which is available at no cost to all eligible covered entities. The PVP requires enrollment with Apexus to obtain sub-340B and sub-WAC prices on covered outpatient drugs, vaccines, and supplies.
The Prime Vendor:
The PVP supports these providers by negotiating discounts with participating 340B manufacturers, which results in more savings for contracted products and services. The Prime Vendor establishes minimum standards for distribution to ensure that even the smallest facilities have access to 340B and PVP pricing.
The 340B PVP works with a large nationwide network of national, regional, and specialty distributors. This distribution network helps ensure delivery of 340B supplies to all covered entities, regardless of size. The distributor selected during the PVP enrollment process will receive a notification with the effective date and link the PVP contract portfolio to the participant’s 340B account.
The secure PVP website allows program participants to download or search the PVP contract catalog and provides access to additional PVP resources and reports. Prime Vendor Program participants must request access to the password-protected site.
